Locktender's House Program

Take a tour of the locktender’s house and discover what it was like to be a locktender’s family. The family who lived in the house next to the lock was in charge of opening the gates for every canal boat. Women and children were often the people opening and closing the lock gates. Additional activities include old-fashioned laundry,  19th century games, or butter churning   Price: $5 per student. / Minimum of 10 students
