National Canal Museum
The National Canal Museum is the only museum in the country dedicated to telling the story of America’s historic towpath canals. The museum features four galleries filled with hands-on exhibits that educate and entertain parents and children alike.
 
Regular Hours
Tuesday-Friday: 9:30 AM to 3 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM to 5 PM
Sunday: 12 to 5 PM
Closed Mondays September-May
Open Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day and the Monday before and after Christmas. Closed New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Waterworks
Load up your cargo and take a journey down a 90-foot long model canal featuring locks and incline planes! Find out how boats float and how mules were able to pull boats weighing over 100 tons.
 
 
TowpathTown
Journey back in time to over a century ago and experience life as a Canaller. Canallers where the men, women and children who lived and worked on the canals. Learn to harness a mule and steer a boat! Discover how Canallers used simple machines like levers and pulleys to make their job easier.
 
 
All Aboard!
Interactive exhibit celebrates the Lehigh Valley's rich railroading heritage. It features "G" gauge trains bearing the names and colors of the Lehigh Valley, Jersey Central and Pennsylvania railroads, plus artifacts and railroad memorabilia.
 
Engineering America
From canals to bridges to skyscrapers, The Engineering America Gallery features fun, hands-on exhibits that focus on America’s engineering heritage.

Build It!

Learn to build skyscrapers out of straws and blocks! Explore the ways  American’s have used wood, brick, stone, and steel to build houses, bridges and other structures!
